Why can't Blago or Pat Quinn appoint Carol Moseley Braun or Adali Stevenson
III or some other Democratic blue ribbon type candidate for the senate seat?

I sure don't want to see an open election!

2. His grandson is 78 and has a farm in NW Illinois.
If he is in good health he would be a great appointment as he is totally above reproach and has never been associated with Chicago politics.

6. Actually not a bad idea--just as a seat holder until the '10 election. Stevenson is beyond approach
and people would accept him.

7. Didn't the voters of Illinois throw Mosely-Braun out of office after just one term?
That may be a recipe for a Republican win in 2010.
