Chief: Palin's home church damaged by arson
Edited on Sun Dec-14-08 12:13 AM by firedupdem
Governor apologizes if 'negative attention' from campaign is connected

snip:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gov. Sarah Palin's home church was badly damaged by arson, leading the governor to apologize if the fire was connected to "undeserved negative attention" from her failed campaign as the Republican vice presidential nominee.

Damage to the Wasilla Bible Church was estimated at $1 million, authorities said Saturday. No one was injured in the fire, which was set Friday night while a handful of people, including two children, were inside, according to Central Mat-Su Fire Chief James Steele.

He said the blaze was being investigated as an arson but didn't know of any recent threats to the church. Authorities didn't know whether Palin's connection to the church was relevant to the fire, Steele said.

1. Hope they catch the assholes who did this.
I don't care who goes to that church. Arson is a crime, and hopefully, they will catch who did it.

6. Yes, they love playing the victim so much that
they will victimize themselves to yell about how bad the lib'ruls are.

9. That's funny because when the Obama HQs at a community near my city was vandalized
it was suggested that the Obama supporters had done it themselves. I guess great minds think alike.

10. The difference: Cons have a history of this sort of thing.
Remember the girl with the backward B?

Remember Phil Parlock?

15. So now the church from which she distanced herself in the campaign is now her "home church?" How

convenient. Nothing better than an opportunity to play the victim and gain a little sympathetic publicity. Just as long as the coattails are long enough, eh Sarah-bou?

And WRT the article's comment about the church gaining negative publicity about a "Love Won Out" conference? First I've heard of that.

No, what this church got negative publicity for was its ties to Dominionism and witch-hunts. Real ones. But hey, nice attempt to smear the gay community and lay the blame there, at least in the public perception.

Me, I'd be checking the insurance policy if I was an arson investigator.

16. Republicans loooove being victims!
I swear, if Republicans couldn't whine about how unfair everyone is to them, they'd have nothing at all to say. Now Sarah can use this to show how victimized Christians are in America. It's the War On Christmas!

:nopity:

for the cost of the arson investigation.
