Governor Blagojevic is the most power man in America tonight
He can destroy any politician in Illinois by delivering the kiss of death: appointing him to the United States Senate.

Discuss.

2. Actually, in my "nightmare"...
he could offer up testimony (false testimony) that Obama was directly involved in the Senate seat for sale scandal.

Burning down the house on his way to jail if he thinks that Obama or Emanuel had anything to do with him getting burned.

Even if there is never even one piece of corroborating evidence, not one document or other witness... it would be enough to be a huge distraction for a long time to come.

4. In your nightmare, it must be then that Blago didn't call Obama
a motherfucker and a fucker like 10 times for not wanting to pay to play, hey?

6. Yeah, I know, the on the record evidence is certainly against
a pay for play deal from Obama. But the wingnuts are already doing the "what did Obama know and when did he know it" bullshit.

If Blago offered up some fake testimony that, say, Rezko offered him some bullshit minor amount ($50K or maybe $100K) to make sure that Obama got his person in that seat... you just KNOW that the wingnuts would run with it. Hell, they are trying to run with it NOW with zip for evidence. Perhaps Blago would figure that such testimony could get him some friends willing to put up some money for a good attorney. The wingnuts have done as much before (remember Paula Jones).

5. Yes. And if he has a brain in his head (which he probably does not),
he will appoint Valerie Jarrett, allegedly Obama's choice, tomorrow morning. I have nothing for or against her, but Blagojevich would be wise to appoint her.
