I read that she has to wear contacts on her show. She's probably very nearsighted.

I don't think that is fair, if men on TV can wear glasses (like Keith), and women cannot.

She also mentioned on her radio show last night that she was sick over the T-day weekend.

9. I think she said something on her radio show about getting a total of 8 hours of sleep this week.

That's what happens to me when I'm sick. I mean I'm basically an insomniac as it is, but when I get sick it's even worse. And all that over the counter medication that supposedly "makes you drowsy" ........ doesn't. :(

Which seems to make no sense at all. Until you realize that this is the shit they make meth from (Which is why it's an "over the counter" drug in name only anymore.

16. 8 hrs of sleep in an entire week? That's insane? Like a sickness that needs to be treated

I have a hard time understanding anyone who can function on 1.1 hrs of sleep a night. Insanity sets in rather quickly under those circumstances. I've found that anything less than 7 hrs a night is difficult, 6 hrs a night becomes brutal, 5 hrs a night is dangerous. 1 hr a night? I'd be a zombie by the 2nd day. A nightmare by day 3. Walking wounded by day 4.

If I don't sleep for three days, I'm literally at the point of insanity. But when I'm sick, I'm too weak to do anything about it.

Came close to killing a friend once, when I had finally gone to sleep after about three days and his drunken ass woke me up in a most rude fashion. By the time I became fully conscious, I was holding my hands around his throat with him in mid air. I think I scared myself more than I did him! :scared:

19. Trick is....

Just lay down. Turn off all the lights. Make sure it's cool in the room (put a fan on yoursef.) Turn off all radios and TVs, and just lay down in a bed a close your eyes. Think of trees swaying in the wind and relax. Oh, and stop drinking coffee so much. Or other more powerful "energy" stuff. Just sleep. If you torture your body it will die faster/ :-(

I feel so bad for Rachel but I am glad she is working and there is no substitute. She is the best media representative for the progressive movement. I have loved her wit and knowledge since I first heard her on Air America!
