Have we heard anything about a potential Secretary of Labor?
I know Labor is a lonely outpost these days. Maybe something has been floated and I have missed it. I have to think that Obama could send a major message by picking a Labor sec who actually believes in Labor and will enforce the laws.
Anybody?

1. I think Will Pitt floated a name he heard a while ago which sounded encouraging
I expect to see a pro-labor choice. I hope it's not just an equivocation from that.

2. Early on I heard David Bonior

I think he said he doesn't want the job, hope Obama can convince him to take it though.

3. The fact that it's not regarded as a part ot the "Economic Team" bodes not well.
I'd feel FAR more comfortable with a more prominent role for the Department of Labor ... as a true ADVOCATE for labor.

5. I thought that was kind of curious also
seems to me that labor is integral to economics.

Good point. We certainly need a real stalwart out there fighting for working people.
Any idea why?

4. Andy Stern's name was floated, which frankly makes me say "meh."

6. Is "meh" good or bad? Some labor folk love Stern, some hate him.
