Why are there so few original thoughts in GD?

The posts with original ideas get lost in all the "Pity Nader" threads, "OMG! DID YOU SEE THE NEWS!" threads, "DU this PBS poll" threads, "Skinner tombstone me" threads, and "Obama isn't perfect" threads, among others.

Or, maybe the thread name doesn't sound interesting enough to find out if it's original enough?
