A letter from an FCC lawyer- telling me O"Rielly's wish to destroy San Francisco is protected speech

-showed up at my house yesterday. RE: a complaint filed in 2005.

I've only complained to the FCC twice. The first time I recieved no response. This time I recieved a letter from a legal professional.

The letter was condescending in tone and amounted to a third grader's lesson in freedom of speech. Imagine that...terroristic threats...protected speech. It's like the DOJ hasn't had ethical problems or something. :sarcasm:

Something tells me he crossed the line on this one so the right's legal loophole wranglers had to come to the crybaby's rescue.

Anyway I wonder if anyone else has recieved this letter re: http://mediamatters.org/items/200511100008

1. No, but I got one when I complained when Glenn Beck discussed...
on the air about fantasizing about killing Michael Moore. :grr:

That's OK though; I found DU because of that Glenn Beck incident. :)

2. In this climate, it's like yelling FIRE in a theater
It should at least merit an FBI visit... just as they would investigate anyone else for inviting terrorism.

On edit: just read the letter again it is signed by an attorney advisor named Brian Hendricks. edit again: found the guy on the web and he seems to be an attorney at least.

6. I look forward to the day
when there truly is "liberty and justice for ALL."

O'Liely should be in Gitmo.

Any of us could imagine we WOULD be if we'd made the same comment.

But I guess if you're a Repuke, you can do or say whatever you like.

Sickening, really.

7. free speech
You really want the government to step in and tell Bill what he should or should not say? Yeah what he said was stupid, but he can think and say whatever he wants. I am a strong believer in the First Amendment, even if it's speech I don't like. Isn't that what free speech is all about?

8. You're right.
Bill O'Reilly isn't a leader of Al Quaeda. When he said they can blow up the Coit Tower, it wasn't like UBL saying that.

I don't want the government punishing him. I want people to tune out.

9. Interesting, that if a person says something like this on TV, it's A-OK. But, if your or I
were to post a similar 'threat' here, we'd probably have an FBI or SS guy on our doorsteps. If I were to stand on a street corner and say it, I'd probably get a visit as well.
