1. That dude lives in his own alternate reality universe......
I don't think he's been outside of it since Reagan's second term.

13. Same Guys Who Told Us. . .
. . .that the Clinton tax increases would cause economic catastrophe. (Wrong)

That the country was in recession in 2001. (Wrong)

That the tax cuts in 2001 and 2002 were going to get the economy roaring. (Wrong)

That deficits didn't matter. (Wrong)

That the free market, unregulated, is the cure to all ills. (Wrong)

And now we're supposed to pay attention to them?

I mean. . .really!

16. what are the criteria again for a recession?
Edited on Mon Nov-24-08 12:26 PM by ellenfl
WERE we in a recession in 2001 according to the repug definition? they have skewed that definition so much lately, i'm not sure what it is! does anyone have solid info that we were in a real recession in 2001? that would be a nice meme to debunk.

WERE we in a recession in 2001 according to the repug definition?
According to conventional definition, no. There was not negative real growth in any quarter, let alone two in a row.
But, they were adjusting the definition to describe what they wanted people to think at the time? It gets worse!

they have skewed that definition so much lately, i'm not sure what it is!
After they screwed things up, they started to rely on the classical definition, so as long as their wasn't negative real growth (but there was if the analysis is done thoroughly) they claimed no recession. (I told it would get worse.)

The very same things they claimed constituted a recession (energy inflation, slightly rising unemployment, growth that was lower than the prior 5 years, increase of the money supply, reduction in the velocity of money, etc.) stopped being important. The very things they said constituted a recession in 2001 were the things that were WAY worse in 2004-2008. So, they keep changing the rules.

does anyone have solid info that we were in a real recession in 2001? that would be a nice meme to debunk.
Easy to debunk. Tell anyone who says that to go to the library and go to the reference section. Tell them to start copying the critical economic indicators from the Statistical Abstract Of The United States. The data is clear. If THEY are trying to claim a 2001 recession, MAKE THEM PROVE IT TO YOU! You don't have to debunk it. It's not true, and there is NO data to support it. Put it on them! Dare them to prove they're right! They can't.

5. He's a total waste of television space.
His century is over...and I'm not talking about the 20th. We should all thank our lucky stars that somebody took the risk of "spending us out" of financial collapse on several critical occasions in our nation's past. Really, I think the networks have a lot of fresher voices and keener minds that are not getting enough air-time yet. Mr. Kudlow, please just go away!

8. An Amusing Segment
The weasel tries to pretend he never "cheerlead" in the high flying IPO days. The good thing about this dude is if he's for something, sell, if he's down on it, you're doing the right thing. He's the financial equivelent of Bloody Billy Kristol...he's never right on anything and will revise history to prove he was. A typical performance.

The fun is to watch this slimeball attempt to be "human". He can't do it. His self-absorption and lack of any soul prevent him from any compassion. A truly vile creature...hopefully he's lost a fortune in his beloved market.

And that all of the nay-saying doesn't help. :eyes:
