In my neck of the woods,(Independence, MO.) gas is $1.65 per gallon. I heard yesterday that it's the cheapest gasoline in the nation.

7. I was never so shocked about California gas, than when....

I moved my family to the Nevada side of the Mojave desert. The year was 2001. On the Nevada side, gas was $1.61 per gallon. But, five miles away, across the state line in Shoshone, California, gas was $2.43 per gallon. I nearly crapped myself.

Most of the stations are charging around $2.50/gallon. Blue state surcharge by the oil companies.

Gas is a little higher here, thanks to the tax but, it all goes to the road system so, I don't mind paying a little more. i have noticed that the cheapest gas also has the worst roads.

My side business' cargo van runs on natural gas. :P

Although here in Oklahoma, I think we're pretty close to you. We're under $1.85.
