That's the "Let's make more children ORPHANS" Right Wing for you
Townhall today features a gloating report on how evangelical and rural voters provided the muscle to push through Arkansas’ anti-gay, anti-family, anti-child constitutional amendment to prevent unmarried couples from becoming foster or adoptive parents:

"Rural and evangelical voters propelled Arkansas to adopt one of the nation's few bans against unmarried couples becoming foster or adoptive parents.

Championed by religious conservatives and fueled by a pulpit campaign, the ban passed with the endorsement of 56.9 percent of the voters. Major support came from rural counties in southwest Arkansas, where about two-thirds of voters supported the measure.

...

The ban, which takes effect Jan. 1, will reduce the pool of available homes for children who need parents and guardians, the governor said."

They must be so proud.

1. DHS, family court judges came out opposed to this
Just wait, though--this will come back to bite them. A fundy couple is killed in a car crash. Their wills state that a relative is to have custody of the kids--but that person is denied the right because they are living with someone--of the opposite sex. Watch the pulpit pundits rail against it--and have their homophobia hang out for all to see.

3. But I'll bet they fully support
the rights of unmarried people to pump out as many unwanted kids as their gonads can handle (and sometimes MORE than they can handle), as long as said kids are from the original wombs

I mean, they must be, seeing as how many of them went crazy over SP even though her daughter is an unwed mom-to-be

Idiots.

I wish they'd just move away and form their own stupid country

5. There is going to be a court challenge to this draconian POS.
It's almost laughable that a state with the second highest divorce rate in the country, one of the top states for drug and alcohol addiction, highest number of births to unwed mothers, passes something like this. The 'unmarried' pump out tons of kids and yet they claim ONLY married couples can raise children and provide for their needs.
