Rallies mark four years of war with impeachment call

March 19, 2007

Thousands of anti-war demonstrators, some carrying yellow and black signs reading "US out of Iraq now!" have marched on the Pentagon in one of the protests held worldwide to mark the anniversary tomorrow of four years of war.

On a stage in the Pentagon car park on Saturday, speaker after speaker demanded the end of the war in Iraq. A flag-draped coffin near the stage bore a picture of a young soldier killed in Iraq.

A woman representing the group that organised the protest said to the cheers of the crowd: "Impeach Bush! Impeach Cheney!
