1. Other: Ideological inflexibility coupled with a nearly religious devotion to neo-liberal economics.
Case in point: DU bailout boosters and the newly formed Rahm Emmanuel fan club. :hi:

2. Pride and ignorance, two conservative values
Too stupid to know any better, too proud to admit one's heroes actions have been wrong for the country.

5. Yeah, I know a few of these types: people who would not admit they were wrong for any reason
because they think admitting error makes them look weak.

I know; it makes no sense, but there you have it. I also think these people are duped by the FOXaganda machine telling them things are ok, so why should they examine the reality on their own?

4. there are certain segments that have profited wildly under *
the MIC, Big Energy (Oil, Electric, Gas, etc), the privatized prison industry, security companies... the banking industry all have done quite well for themselves under neocon rule.

7. They still believe in Laissez-Fairyland.
There once was a land with an arrogant (though ignorant), ideological King who thought "the magic of the marketplace" would create an eternal rainbow of prosperity through financial "innovation"--if only the market was unshackled from any pesky public regulations.

But as everyone knows, magicians don't perform magic ... they perform illusions.

Hightower's laissez-fairyland should be made into the modern day equivalent of a Grimm's fairy tale. That way our grand children's children won't forget what caused our collapse.
