Only lets you choose one. Economy is leading, obviously. But Prosecuting torture and other war crimes is an option.

1. No option for energy!
The big energy/climate change/all our money going to Saudi Arabia complex is actually one issue, and it underlies the economy issues. I wish I could have voted for that.

2. My pick wasn't in there either!
I wanted to vote for separating the church that has been inserted into the state.

Starting with the Justice department, and doing away with all that faith-based initiative shit.

I know Obama has made comments seemingly supporting it, but this past administration has proven that is too dangerous.

3. I was looking for the same
Economy is way too broad of an issue too. What part should we address, credit? Weak dollar? Outsourcing? Housing? The coming credit card crunch?

4. What would it take for poor folk to be a priority?
Just for old times sake?

5. What about GLBT rights?
It should be a top priority in Obama's administration.

7. They need to broaden the issue so its a popular winner. Did you ever read 1984?
Where elicit sex was a revolutionary act? Its like that. I'm going to do whatever I want to do, live how I want to live, marry who I want to marry. The question is whether or not I will be making a mockery of the law while I do it. Every piece of legislation that bans oral or anal sex (and these are still on the books in some places) is a piece of legislation that is mocked every time somebody does these things. Its quite literally demeaning to the law books to attach them to people's genitals and asses and asses in this way. Its a joke that I can go out alone in the woods, put a ring on another mans finger, make an oath to him, and in so doing defy California's constitution, with all law enforcement completely powerless to stop me. It just looks bad... it makes a mockery of what the law is supposed to be.

And to me, more than anything, its about whether or not the law is to be taken seriously. Frivolous legislation makes the law a joke in our minds. Unenforceable legislation that we all violate makes the law seem like a formality rather than a way of life.

6. Economy
Gotta start with the economy. After that, everything else will fall in line

10. People who are economically sound are less likely to be afraid of equal rights
I think part of why 8 passed was because people are suffering economically.
I DON'T feel that LGBT should be PRESIDENT Obama's TOP priority.
There is enough momentum that the courts can deal with it while he works to fix the economy, our democracy, and others.
I'm not saying it ISN'T a priority, just that other things have to come first.
I'm sorry, I really am, but we have to FIX the damn cart before we can get back on it.

8. I see two existential issues...
Climate change, and the threat of nuclear war or nuclear terrorism. Both threaten the earth, and as such are the highest priorities.

That being said, everything on this list is of critical importance in its own way.

I think that "Tax Reform", done correctly, is the most effective way to cure "The Economy".

And if we don't fix the election system, we're basically left without any hope of changing any of the other stuff.

Tough call.

9. Energy is the single most important problem we face as a country
the entire society rests on energy. The right solutions would help curtail the damage we're doing to the environment, reduce a lot of stress in the economy, and make us more secure.

If we don't fix this and get clean and renewable energy then none of the rest of the issues have any viability over the long term. A raped planet and a stone age society just isn't going to work.

11. We might be able to do two at once on this one...
We create American jobs making renewable energy generators for the US, Solar panel plants, Wind plants, hydro generator plants, ALL US MADE, even if they need to be GOVERNMENT RUN AND OWNED TO KEEP IT PROFITABLE!

we'd be able to put factory workers back to work, engineers, builders, etc.

We increase our recycling, keep ALL materials IN COUNTRY, we start RECYCLING OUR OWN COMPUTERS!!!! as opposed to sending them to india!
The cases alone on the older units have TONS of SHEET STEEL that can be recycled for other uses like building Wind turbines!
We use motherboard components, break down the metals, and reduce the overall toxicity, we can shred motherboards and use them with tires to make roads (already being done with old tires).

We use the glass from CRTs to make other glass, silicon is V E R Y recyclable!

AND... we keep it ALL inside, the US, we KEEP OUR MATERIALS!

I was HORRIFIED to find out that all the steel from the twin towers was SOLD OUT OF COUNTRY for PENNIES on the dollar of what it was worth!!!

We start at home! We keep the jobs at HOME, and we improve OUR economy first!

It's what FDR did, and by god it worked!
