I'm flying a flag at my house for the 1st time in 8 years.

I went and bought a new flag a few days ago. Call me optimistic.

It looks AWESOME.

I used to fly the flag a lot, mainly on special occasions (national holidays or significant dates in American history), and sometimes for more private stuff (my enlistment date, dates that a couple of my military buddies died, etc.).

Eight years ago I woke up and some little shit-stick fake-ass "Texan" rich-boy had apparently stolen an election that I went to bed thinking had been won by Al Gore. A few weeks later a criminally-partisan Supreme Court made it official.

Around 2003 or so I was really worried about the inevitable war and for some reason did a Google search on "conservative AND idiots" and HEY! PRESTO! I was directed to this site. It was like a tall glass of cold water after a hike in the high desert. I read for a long time and officially joined a year later (vetting and all that).

To say this place has been a godsend/oasis/sanity check verification is an understatement.

Y'all know how it is.

Anyway...it's been a long time. I swore I would never fly an American flag again until that stupid drunken cheerleader dumbass was gone, but here we have Barack Obama as our next President...I couldn't wait.
