We are on the eve before.... and many of us are nervous nillies
I refuse to count chickens before they hatch... but that does not mean I am not on edge

So I have been doing a no-no... anxiety eating.

That is an absolute no-no

So to deal with it did not reach for wine, don't drink... but to the exercise machine. Hopefully the good workout will not only help burn some of them calories, but also help me calm down

So what are your choice ways of dealing with pre-election day nerves?

And yes, I remember 2004 I guess that's one reason I am a nervous wreck... and gosh darn it, I promised myself NOT to do that again...

17. You welcome, I know most folks don't realize this
but drinking and most meds should never be done

And Advil is a powerful chemical that is not that liver friendly... neither is Tylenol by the way. In fact, Tylenol is down right nasty... why whenever you take it... follow instructions carefully.

Those years as a medic...

Alas that is one reason I don't drink... since I take some prescription meds that should never be mixed with alcohol...

20. I'm going to finish the last chapters of "The Road." And I pray it
calms my nerves. I've been savoring it instead of rushing through like I usually do. But I don't think I can stretch it out any further than tonight.

Thank goodness the Halloween candy is gone or I would have been eating that today.

Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 11:56 PM by BamaGirl
Couple weeks ago when the stress/anxiety really amped up. Physically I already feel better. Emotionally/mentally? Ask me Wednesday. :) I am so glad I finally get to vote tomorrow. I need to move to an early voting state!

edited because I am apparently brain dead at this point and using the wrong words. :P

23. Nothing will work.
I feel like those lines in Peter Gabriel's 'I Have the Touch':

"Pull my chin, stroke my hair, scratch my nose, hug my knees
Try drink, food, cigarette, tension will not ease
I tap my fingers, fold my arms, breathe in deep, cross my legs
Shrug my shoulders, stretch my back - but nothing seems
To please"

I have to be at work at 5am and I can't sleep. I'll grab some sleep where I can, and just be up all night tomorrow. Nothing will ease up for me until the concession and acceptance speeches, whoever it is that delivers them.

24. I have jury duty tomorrow
so depending if i get put on a case as a juror, i may get home early. I will be on edge, because although I think this will be historic, I have that paranoid side of me that fears that some votes may get switched. So I will have some drinks to calm the nerves, and to celebrate when this victory is official!
