I actually understand how the opinions of those supporting (sorta) Obama fit into their world view.

I don't really want to understand that. But, here I am, understanding it.

I spend too much time around sociologists.

4 of them sound almost sober and reflective, embracing Obama or McCain as a sort of "heighten the contradictions" opportunity.

Racist thugs who can manage a sober veneer weird me the hell out. They're way creepier than the one guy who couldn't help being a spittle-flecked hater.
