GA: Citizenship "challenges" at the polls
The Georgia Sec'y of State(R) popped up yesterday to helpfully remind us that anyone can challenge anyone else's voter status at the polls. If challenged, you get a special ballot that won't be counted in precinct totals and will only be counted in county totals after you've proven your eligibility in post-election hearings.
Any voter can challenge another’s qualifications to cast a ballot by notifying a precinct poll manager, Handel said. That voter then would be given a challenge ballot and would have to go before the election board.

If large numbers of challenges are made on Election Day, Handel said, her office will investigate whether they are part of an orchestrated effort to influence the election’s outcome.

But, she said, "I’m not anticipating any kind of huge issue there."

Of course you're not anticipating a "huge issue", Katherine.

Oops, I meant Kenneth.

Sorry, sorry, my bad. Karen.

2. I would like to be challenged.
It would be very brief. Very, very brief.

5. Hmm...
I wonder if you could overcome the challenge immediately by bringing proof of citizenship with you when you vote (if you have one, passport would be easiest - but driver's license and social security card work for I-9 forms, if I recall correctly).

I hate to give them any opportunity to separate ballots out for separate processing. Compromises anonymity and increases the risk that the ballot won't be counted.
