My son's school voted for President:
A middle school, grades 6-8 had their vote for president yesterday. We are in Raleigh, NC and draw from fairly strong republican areas of Raleigh, as well as other parts. In the past, the school has been a decent split of D/R for Pres, so I was expecting much of the same this time.

Well, as it turned out, every single team (a group of 4 teachers and their 100 or so students) and their "electoral votes" went for Obama.

McCain did not win a single EV out of the 20 teams in the school. In North Carolina. Drawing from Republican neighborhoods.

A win, I expected. A 'unanimous vote' I did not.

1. My son sophmore class voted too
Being in a very red area of mccane's home state, I expected a huge victory for him. He did win, but only by 49 to 51%.

4. Our exchange student (high school Junior) voted also
in her history class, and the vote was:
Obama: 16
McCain: 2
Barr: 2

She said the class only has 5 white people, so that wasn't too much of a surprise - except for the Barr vote= McCain vote :P

2. That's truly AMAZING!!
Most kids that age develop their political beliefs from their parents. You're definitely
in red country, so that is really remarkable.

I had quite a few middle-school-aged trick or treaters last night, and I was surprised that
most of them commented on and complimented me on our Obama yard sign!

I was not tuned into politics when I was that age. Then again, I never had an Obama to
look up to.

That's awesome about the unanimous win for Obama!
