Okay here is an interesting scenario ....
a) Assume Barack Obama wins and b) We get a huge majority in the house and the senate.

Now, the new congress is sworn in on January 2. So there are still 18 days left of the Bush/Cheney admin. It is not likely that the new congress will transact any business until Obama is sworn in anyway. How about using this time for something useful?

How about the new house impeaching Bush/Cheney on January 3rd and refer the matter to the senate for a trial?

If the senate can hold a speedy trial, they can be removed from office by January 18 and Nancy Pelosi can be president for 2 days. If the senate cannot conclude the trial by Jan 20, Bush and Cheney will leave office without being found "not-guilty" and will thus be permanently tarred by history.

This whole exercise will be too far away from the next elections and thus is unlikely to have an impact on future elections.

One advantage is that if removed from office, Bush won't be able to pardon anyone hahahaha.

5. Well, that sorta leaves us with the fact that he's thought to be a screwball
by a lot of people. NOT by ME...just saying how things are.

2. I like it, but they need to select new leadership first. Nancy and Harry
would oppose it, and they need to step down anyway.

3. Won't happen
1. Everybody knows a trial wouldn't be able to happen that fast, so why bother?

2. The new Congress will be busy approving Obama's cabinet and starting on his legislative agenda.
