1. Where did you find hotel rooms
Were they way overpriced?

4. I found a Sleep Inn in a suburb in Maryland
It's about 13 miles north of DC, I plan to take a taxi to the closest Metro Station and take the Metro into DC from there. My total package was very good. I'm flying in on the 18th so that I can go into DC the day before and scope out the area and have my travel plans already in place the morning of the Inauguration. That way I will know exactly where I'm going and how to get there very early on that most-important day!! Then I'm flying back home the day after. :hi:

5. My daughter has a friend in Silver Spring and
we're waiting to find out if we can stay with him and his roommate. I looked at flights the other day, but most had only one seat left and they were more expensive than they've been. My daughter thinks we should drive in my smart car. If it were any other time of the year than the dead of winter, I'd be all for a road trip, but I'm a little concerned about the possibility of snow on the route through Ohio and Pennsylvania. I'd like to come in on Saturday and leave Wednesday. We may just wind up playing it by ear and, if we have a place to stay, watch the weather forecast and take our chances. We could always pull off the turnpike and stay somewhere overnight if the weather is bad.

7. Right - driving through Ohio & PA at that time of year
can be HORRIBLE. I am actually flying in to Baltimore BWI. You might try to see if you can get a flight into there. They may have more options and seats available. My hotel is about 15 miles from the Baltimore BWI Airport. Good luck.

8. I like the convenience of National, but
if we wind up in Silver Spring, maybe BWI won't be so bad.

12. It's not a bad drive from BWI to
Silver Spring. I'm thinking of renting a car instead of taking all the taxi cabs though. It might be about the same amount of money. I'll have to check on that. Where do you live?

2. A few days ago?
Hotels here have been sold out for weeks. Where did you find lodging?

3. I got a hotel in a suburb in Maryland.
At a Sleep Inn, it's about 13 miles out of DC. I will take a taxi to a Metro station and take the Metro in to DC. If you are going, you should try a suburb in Maryland or Virginia maybe. :hi:

14. Yeah, that's about all that would have been available.
The local places have been booked forever. Lots of people don't care who wins, they just like the Inaugural events.

I'm not looking for lodging, since I live fifteen minutes from the White House. Those crowds are less than appealing to me. It's a whole lot more fun on TV. We locals know better.

I hope we have a lot to celebrate at this Inaugural.

6. I stayed at a Best Western in Dulles last week . .
and they were complaining about it being slow, so they might have rooms.
I was able to get a transfer to the hotel, and you can get a bus into DC
from the airport.
Just a thought.

10. I sent an email to both Marcy Kaptur
and Sherrod Brown's offices. Sherrod Brown's office emailed me back this morning and said they don't have all of the details yet but added me to the list for tickets. They will email me when they get all of the information and the tickets are in place.
