Ted Kennedy Returning to DC
October 28, 2008 10:46 AM

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos reports: Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., is returning to Washington DC, sources tell ABC News.

Kennedy will be returning to Washington, DC, will continue his treatment, and will be working in DC on his health care plan, sources tell ABC News. He hopes to participate in stimulus debate during lame duck session of Congress.

Kennedy, the third-longest-serving senator in history and patriarch of the Kennedy family, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in May.

The longtime Massachusetts Democrat has been at his family's compound in Cape Cod and undergoing treatment.

Kennedy's last major public appearance was at the Democratic National Convention in August, giving a rousing speech endorsing Barack Obama for president.

1. Third longest serving senator in US history. Why hasn't he already formulated his plan?
How fucking long does it take? I have big problems with news like this.

"I've been your senator for xx years. IF you re-elect me, I promise to get something done!"

3. Ted has been working on health care for a long time
Unfortunately, he just can't wave a wand and make it happen. It has to involve other people. That's what's taking time.

God Bless, Ted.

5. He HAS been working on healthcare for a very long time
He is NOT up for re-election. He was planning to retire after this term.

In fact he might not even live until Christmas.

He is trying to do one last thing for "the people" before he dies.

Why? Because he fucking CARES.

How can you not know this?

:grr:

:nuke:

7. What is your Senator doing?
and how many plans do you think Senator Kennedy has already authored? Has your Senator assisted him in any way to help these laws get passed? Are you aware of what Senator Kennedy has done throughout his career for the people of my state?

6. Ried is not throwing Byrd under the bus
Byrd is in very poor health and can hardly communicate anymore. He should step down from the post on his own. No one is kicking him out of the Senate.
