19. This is a trick to get women to vote for McCain
If women think that she is more than a puppet they are more likely to vote McCain. Think about it if McCain did not want Palin flying around the country spewing discord and division they would tell the Pilot don't fly the plane. Palin has no power, it belongs to McCain. I sincerely hope Democrats don't become lax November 4th. I want to challenge every reader to make sure they get their family, friends and acquaintances to the poll.

to 'get in there and change things'. McCain was just her rock solid 'stepping stone' (anybody remember that song by

Monkeys? Maybe McCain is humming that tune to himself right now), and now that she's found her fan base, she's going for

the prize in 2012. 'There can only be one Maverick, so get out of the way, Gramps!'.

23. I'm actually beginning to wonder if this wasn't her plan all along
I mean, think about it. No one in their right mind wanted to be paired with McCain becuase they knew he was going to lose....except maybe for Lieberban. Jindal, Mittens, Polenty, etc....none of them wanted to be on this ticket and be damaged. Palin is ballsy (and delusional) to believe otherwise. I don't think she wanted McCain to get elected. She just wanted the national exposure so she could position herself for 2012. No one would EVER think of somone from AK for a presidential run from the get go, BUT, let her work her 'charms' on the dull witted and the fundie right and she gets a lot of free press and exposure. Mind you, I don't really think she is much of a threat in 2012. I think people will remember the crap she's pulled in this run. I'm equally sure she is delusional enough to think none of this will be remembered or carried forward. She is used to being a big fish in a very small pond and believes her 'charm' will win out even in a national pond. I think she believes she'll still be govenor when the next election rolls around. I don't think she realizes just how upset the state is with her or that she takes this ethics problem at all seriously. Like shrub, she's never been held accountable for anything and thinks she never will be...all she has to do is bat her eyes and give a "aw shucks, you betcha" and all will be forgiven. I don't think she'll ever make it out of the primaries but she'll be back. That you can count on.

38. Sitting in the surgery waiting room the other day,
I struck up a conversation with the receptionist. After a while, the talk turned to politics. She and her husband have a good friend who lives in Alaska. He is a teacher who also happened to attend high school with Palin.

He said that she was highly competitive in school, almost to the point that she felt she was entitled to win. In politics, he said that as long as you didn't cross her, she was ok. But, if she felt any bit of disagreement, whether real or imagined, she was done with you.

Not too open to discussions involving views that differ from hers. Isn't much into negotiating.

He used the word "ruthless" to describe how she treated adversaries. He is worried about what Palin might do as VP, should McCain win the election.
