A super rt wnger flipped out in my HYVee-over Obama T-shirt here in KC
I know the guy. He comes in to eat breakfast at my HyVee. He looks kind of like what you think of when you think "wimpy."

He told me one day that Obama was the Anti-christ and this was the most important election of our times.

He was sitting in the eating section when a woman came in wearing an Obama t-shirt. He just started in on her and wouldn't shut up. He was saying ;'fuck" so much that the help tried to get him to just calm down.

Finally the woman in the shirt got so mad she turned around and threw her pop at him.

He went yelling to the help desk telling them to call the police because he had been assaulted. Police came, listened to him rant, turned around and left.

I just can't believe how tense this situation is getting.

33. Hy-Vee is an employee-owned grocery chain
As for those fundy churches in Kansas City North...they need some McCain/Palin: The Adultery Ticket signs posted near them.

Seen 'em and actually been to some in Illinois. Just sayin'. And every Tuesday AM, my dad and I eat breakfast at a local Hy-Vee. Never had anyone flip out though, and we talk politics all the time.

9. I don't think they have killed anyone yet.
But there has been trouble - sign stealing, graffitti, that kind of stuff.

But there are people just like that man so don't get rattled if you run into one.

3. Sounds like the store manager should have thrown him out
Customers like that chase of more customers than they will draw in.

13. Management was on it. Everyone in the store was upset.
Customers and employees. People do not make scenes here in the midwest. Its just not done. So something like this really shook people up.

I don't think they threw him out. I think maybe he left on his own. And I kind of doubt he will ever be back.

18. How well I know
I grew up in Iowa and lived in Northwest Missouri for 20 years. We miss the the midwest where everyone says hi as you walk down the street and drivers are over courteous.

That's why this behavior was really so upsetting to people That behavior is just crazy stuff here.

5. Chill . Everybody should chill.
No one is going to change anyone else's mind at this late stage of the game. So we all just need to sit back and watch. And vote. Most importantly, if you feel so strongly one way or the other, then VOTE. Like BO says. No, don't "boo" just vote.

And I am looking forward to November 5 with some trepidation. There will be trouble no matter how the results are reported -- a McCain "win" will be the final proof that we no longer live in a democracy, and an Obama win will set off hundreds, maybe thousands, of lunatics like the one in your post.

19. He probably just belongs to one of the way out churches here.
Where else would he get that stuff about the anti-christ. You just would not believe the garbage some of these people actually believe. And its always stuff that really gets people riled up - big stuff like the anti-christ.

I never get over being amazed at the stuff I hear at breakfast in the grocery store. It is just such an eye opener. People here are still so prejudiced still - and its a real ground in kind of hate.

Actually it would be just to get a cussing christian story in the local news.

But the store was very concerned about his language and actions. They kept trying to get him to calm down and shut up. But he just totalled lost it.

30. A persistent string of shouted obscenties is different from that used in casual conversation.
I was mostly sarcastic 'cause I loves me some free speech but if you start shouting obscenties on a playground that is different than if a kid just overhears your conversation.

Here is another example of election-time desperation:

But is he a Republican or a Democrat?

http://www.kssos.org/elections/elmpast/2kgwin1.html

As one might expect, he is a former Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives.

These are REALLY die-hard repubs. I'm gonna try to take off Mon just so I don't have to hear them run their mouths all day bashing Obama, and still supporting the Chimp/Cheney, Gramps and Caribou Barbie.
