I used to do this in the early days of the Net with a friend of mine from Dallas who now lives in SF .....and who most freepers would have a stroke if they met. A pro. musician with middle-of-the-back length hair and dark purple fingernails. Also a complete HOOT to hang with - brilliant and facile mind. Graduate degree from LSE.

I miss those days. We used to call it "dolt-baiting."

I would of been tired of dealing with these buffoons a long time ago. But I do like how when they are confronted with facts, they have no logical response.

I do computer training. Sometimes my students remark on my patience. I do a *shucks* and say, "I am not really patient; in this job, you have to show patience."

In some cases I have deleted the snide, the snark, and the sarcasm that they warrant. I gave credit above to DUer Az. I also find myself channeling Barack. I also call up the Patrick Swayze character from Roadhouse: "Always be nice." These freepers have enough to deal with, being shown to be wrong on the issues. If I insult them, they'll seize on that. Plus, it becomes a weapon against them, as in, "hurling insults makes your arguments seem weak."

It isn't always easy. I'm still learning to do this.
