I'm not going to pass judgment on her anymore.

When the story first erupted and spewed all over the internet, I was concerned and then worried that this would somehow slow down Obama's momentum. We know how stuff that normally wouldn't matter can take on a life of it's own and, all at once, become larger than the Beatles. Joe the Plumber, case in point.

But this seems different, an air of instability in all of this.

Ashley should seek help. Quickly.

This isn't a reflection on McCain. It is a reflection on when dedication to a cause turns into obsession. Especially if your whole identity is tied to the success of your cause. As it slips away from you, it's all too easy to personalize the loss and hence the troubled college student appears.

I'm no psychologists but I have been around enough campaigns were young people, especially, become so wrapped up in the cause they lose themselves in it. Most emerge stronger from the experience and learn to deal with elation or deflation in a more non emotional manner.

This girl needs help.
