1. Annually?
Maybe a thousand dollars, at the very most.

5. Baby/toddler clothes are fairly cheap
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 07:27 PM by Oregone
You don't have to get name brand, they are always on sale somewhere, hand-me-downs are plentiful, and you can buy big.

Diapers are a whole other story

12. True, if you don't care if your child feels inferior to better dressed babies
:sarcasm:

According to the local Minneapolis news, the outfit Trig was wearing the night Palin gave her speech was purchased at an exclusive baby & toddler botique here and cost $98 (personally, I've seen cuter baby outfits at Target.) Even as a doting aunt, with no kids of her own, I never considered spending that kind of money on an outfit a child would outgrow in a few weeks (not to mention all the horrible things an infant can do their clothes). If I splurged on one of the kids it was usually on a toy or some unnecessary, but nice to have piece of baby equipment....Something they'd at least get some use from.

17. I have bought both my grandbabies clothes in Lots on ebay, mostly unused and very nice and
a lot cheaper than buying new. You have to really search for the deals but they are still there for small children.

3. $400 maybe?
We're a family of three. I haven't bought clothes in almost 2 years, if not more. My wife does now and then for work.

$400 maybe reasonable. Not sure why it would have to be more.

4. Depends on the family
Girls always want something new, boys are always wearing out their clothes or growing out of them. If you can afford new, probably at least $2,000. If it's the Goodwill, less than $500. I imagine it gets harder every year.

6. I bought two pair of jeans on sale for $9.99 each at Target a year ago.

And a nice leather belt at Goodwill for $1.49.

That's about it for my last 12 months of clothing allowance.

7. I've splurged for professional looking clothes this year...
To the tune of, say, $600? I had to completely replace my high school wardrobe of 9 years ago, though. It was getting rather ragged, and really wasn't appropriate for my job.

10. I spent over 200.00 on clothes for one kid and they were on sale at penneys
and he will need some more in the spring, so probably 600.00 for 2 kids, including a warm coat apiece...as for me, I buy the out of season 3.00 shorts and tshirts at walmart in the fall and winter clothes in the spring on sale. I am not picky, just with pants, I HAVE to have bellbottom jeans, I cannot handle those close to the ankle pants.

11. Are they on national TV daily?
Are they attending several campaign events every day standing next to an heiress who wears 280K diamond earrings? Jesus people, let it go. It costs lots of money to get elected. Power isn't cheap.

If i was running, I'd need to buy 7-10 $500-$700 suits, maybe 20 ties, hella shirts, socks, and 3-4 pairs of shoes. I own no blue suit, and only have 1 pair of shoes that are appropriate - black ferragamos i bought 5 years ago.

13. This past year I've been buying our clothes at resale shops
like goodwill, etc. I can't think of one thing I've bought new this year........and in the past, when I did buy new, it had to be on sale.

Don't even half to wear 'em. Buy 'em. Donate 'em! I'd be good at that, especially with somebody else's money, just like Silly Sarah.

15. I can't imagine how a person could spend 150K on clothes in a month.
The last time I was at Saks (one of the stores in question) the most expensive thing I saw was a coat for 2K.
