Hillary Hatred Lives On

It was completely unnecessary. It was, unfortunately, completely predictable. TPM's Hillary hatred knows no bounds, not even all these months after the primary has ended, with Clinton doing more for Obama than any other opponent of a winning candidate has ever done. Did Teddy raise $10 million for Carter? Did Reagan for Ford? Did either crisscross the country bringing in 18 million voters, plus the female vote who were devoted to Clinton? Don't make me laugh. But today, after a long-winded stem winder on McCain campaign tactics, TPM goes out of its way to upload a reader email in a "late update" that smears Hillary Clinton for doing something she didn't do. There was simply no reason whatsoever to upload that email in a "late update" unless it was to continue the Hillary smears TPM launched throughout the primaries.

Josh Marshall is one of the goodest of the good guys. If I could only read one site it would be TPM.

But the email in question by PB pissed me off also, so I emailed Josh about it. (Which I do maybe once a year)

1) Hillary mentioned Wright like once, in response to a question. Wright was
pushed primarily by Sean Hannity, then by the entirety of the Main Stream
Media.

2) The "Hard-working, white" Americans incident was the result of her
realizing she had painted herself into a rhetorical corner. Had she not
added "white" the sentence would have been a statement that non-white people
do not work hard. It was inelegant, but about as much a smoking gun as the
bogus Dissing MLK story and the uber-bogus RFK Assassination story.

3) The Muslim garb photo was distributed by Matt Drudge with the claim he
got it indirectly from a Hillary worker. He never said anyone in the
campaign sent it to him. (And the photo was widely distributed on the
internet months earlier by RW types... it was not any sort of
discovery.)That was one of many fake Drudge attempts to split the Democratic
party along racial lines.

Sorry PB, but any attempt to spin Hillary as having waged a more ruthless
campaign against Obama than McCain is just silly.

And, objectively, the McCain campaign is the ugliest of modern times. The
literal response to a McCain robo-call is not to vote McCain, it is to call
911! The Ayers call intentionally creates the impression that Obama is an
actual terrorist who played a part in bombing the pentagon and killing
Americans.

That's a lot worse than having an illegitimate black baby or exaggerating a
purple heart claim.

Imagine if Bob Dole had ended the 1996 campaign by concentrating on the
"Hillary shot Vince Foster" stuff.

resource during the primaries. Good letter.

Marsh is complaining about a reader's email posted on TPM???? As evidence of what? That people send emails?
