She and I were on the same page a couple of months ago. When Palin was chosen, she was one of the people who connected with her as a down to earth (?) person. That was the last time I spoke with her about politics. I am disappointed. We have disagreed about lots of stuff over the years, and have remained friends. This one feels painful. Ugh.

2. Let's see. 1000 out of 300,000,000 doesn't strike me as anything more than the edge of the fringe.

4. Ask her upfront if this is really her. If it is, ask her what changed in only a few months...
... because this is pretty drastic.

If she's really your best friend, then it's worthwhile trying to find out what is really going on with her.

Only you can decide if the level of political disagreement is too much to get past and go on.

But yeah -- ugh.

5. So, she was your best friend...
...and you guys started talking because of this year's political garbage?

That would hurt.

Maybe after the election ends, things will return to normal.

6. I'm going through the same thing
with a friend. We've decided it's best we distance ourselves at least until after the election. Maybe forever.

7. I have good friends whose spouses, who I also consider to be friends
voting for McCain. Sometimes if you really care about someone and don't want to lose them, you have to accept that fear makes people do things we abhor. Kind of like how Obama was willing to cut Rev. Wright slack. he can't disown him anymore than he can his own grandmother. I won't disown my mother because she's voting for Mccain. I will however, steer clear from her until after election day.

8. I give my friends freedom
to vote how they wish. They return the compliment.
