Milton was a communication genius. He was studied and modeled by the founders of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Tony Robbins was a student of NLP. Bill Clinton hired Robbins to train his crew. I am not surprised that Obama is trained in these techniques. To the democrats, they understand that their message can suck but they can get elected if their delivery is powerful.

A fundie friend of my brother's was telling him that Obama was the anti-christ. He wasn't sure how to handle her so he called me and put her on the line. I told her, "yep, he's the anti-christ" and that's why she should vote for him. I explained to her that the only way for Jesus to come back would be for the anti-christ to win and that she should help this process along by voting for Obama. Otherwise, by voting for McCain, she was subverting God's will and delaying the rapture. She was completely flummoxed and handed the phone back to my brother.

When he got on the phone he asked what I told her because she had gone quite pale and looked like she was going to pass out. I told him what I told her and thought I was mean but funny. I just told him that I'll do just about anything I have to to get Obama elected and if I have to pray upon her fears, then so be it. I know I can't reason with some of these people so I'm not even going to waste my time trying. They want fear, I'll give it to them. I have no idea how she'll vote. Hopefully she'll vote Obama and encourage others to do the same.

Besides, I remember when they said Gore and Kerry were each the anti-christ. If they are going to think that every Dem candidate is the anti-christ then I'm going to help them settle on just one. I think it will help ease their minds as to who the anti-christ is once and for all and hopefully they'll start embracing some of Christ's teachings. I posted extensively on the fact that as I listened to Barack Obama speak at the Democrat convention in 2004, I was at first attracted to his style, but it wasn’t long before I noticed a discomforting familiarity that I couldn’t place, something about the cadence and the use of emotional buzz words. Then I realized, he sounded just Marjoe Goertner, the boy evangelist, the fraudulent tent preacher and healer.

When I posted this, some Freepers pointed out that it was a favored technique of the Nazis also. I did a search on mind control and Nazis and sure enough, they were right.

If anything, Republicans are better at it, since much of their rhetoric consists of painting pictures and using vague phrases, concepts and imagery, such as patriotism, freedom, the flag, 'family values' and things that really don't seem to make sense, other than advertising slogans.

And by the time Tony Robbins hobnobbed with Clinton (along with quite a few other performance gurus), he had long stopped practicing NLP (he found its scope quite limited).

NLP is pretty complicated to wrap one's head around. It's not casual reading. Today, it's mostly being used by pickup artists.
