Joe Knollenberg, a Republican US Rep from suburban Detroit who's been in office since the Mesozoic age, is in real trouble this year. (He nearly lost to Nancy Skinner in 2006, and Gary Peters has a real shot to oust him.) And his ads have just sunk to a new low:

"Gary Peters supports a health care plan that even Barack Obama has called 'extremist' and would grant health care to illegal aliens."

I was so disgusted when I saw it this morning that I immediately donated more $$$ to Peters' campaign, even though I'm not in his district. The beast (the Republican Party) must be slain.
