My wacko SIL taught her kids to say "Boo-bama"
She was a no-show at a family picnic yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to ask her. So what do you think, DU-ers? WTF is that supposed to mean?

meant to be an insult.. But when I moved to the south to go to college, it was something everyone used towards one another as a term of enderment.. I call my husband boo, my child boo sometimes.. actually the kid is little boo bear a lot.. but we are white... I know for us it isn't something bad... its a loving thing.. a "yes, dear" or "ok, babe".. or "pass the salt boo".. So Obama is a boo bear.. fits nicely with my image of the man.. he is endearing and genuine and feels lik a part of our collective family.. he's in our hearts.. So, If I called him Boo-bama, it would be a nice thing.

Oh, and I'm 29.. so, I'm not sure when it went from negative to positive? But all of my friends, white and black and whatever used it.. kinda like now I'm in FL and I have friends call me mami or my husband papi or poppa (kinda a spanish thing).. and its used as an enderment..

Has been for as long as I can remember (and I'm considerably older than 29).

4. I heard the phrase the "Dali Bama" this w/e
from a wingnut who meant it to be disparaging. I actually kinda chuckled. Hey, if they think linking him with the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is an insult....go for it, wingnuts. Yea, that'll work for ya...

6. It means that your SIL isn't paying attention
and is voting in reflection of that.

Oh, and she's terribly uncreative.
