Saturday Morning Food Bank Checklist!

Good morning DUers!

Are you going to do some grocery shopping today?

Please consider picking up an extra item or two to donate to your local food bank.

The other day the DU community contributed some really good information about how we can help out people effected by this GOP financial mess (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=4206119&mesg_id=4206119).

A checklist was drawn up, ready for you to print out, make copies and give to your friends and co-workers to use as a reminder of how easy it would be to help someone in need.

You don't have to buy everything on the list, just read through it and buy one extra item than you normally would to give to your local food bank. Do it in honor of community organizers, donate on behalf of Obama's campaign, or do it in DU's name. Just pick something up. Try to give one item every week until the election.

DU is a large community, we can make a difference.

I just thought I would be annoying and add more to your list....with peanut butter one must have jelly!! Also working parents often need healthy cheap snacks the kids can grab themselves like jars of nuts, pretzels, popcorn, peanut butter crackers...
