Poll question: Do you have your money in a bank or a credit union?
Given the irresponsibility of major commercial banks, I'm wondering how many people here have their money in them, how many have it in credit unions, which tend to be a lot more careful, and how many are moving to credit unions

6. Credit Union
Canceled my last credit card three weeks ago (Bank of Fuckmerica - I hate them). Will never have one again, ever. I have a Visa debit with my checking account that I use for plane tickets, online purchases, and the like.

Of course, having paid my bills and made one trip to the grocery store, I have $98 left for the rest of the month.

14. Both
We have interest checking (LOL) and a Money Market Checking account at the bank for short term savings.

We have separate account at Credit Union for long-term savings.

Sigh.

19. Since all my money is in The Bank of America,
I feel it is secure for the time being. I closed out a 401K and moved the cash into my savings temporarily.

God only know what it would be now. Credit union = free checking, nicer people. Free notary service too. Love my CU!
