2. funny you mention that. I've never touched a firearm in my life and
the thought has crossed my mind.

4. My dad was a cop, so I learned how to use one
And I'm just as much of a 2nd Amendment absolutist as I am a 1st Amendment absolutist...

But I swore I wouldn't buy a gun because I don't want to live in a world where I need one. Crime is not bad enough to need one, and I'm not in enemy territory.

But lately, like you, I've been thinking differently.

3. I voted for number 2, however, if confronted
of if needed, I would defend someone from violence inflicted by another.

5. I thin it comes down to our tolerance for violence and its effects on the psyche,
I also believe most of us have no idea of what our true tolerance might be.

6. I have a pretty low tolerance for physical violence
and I don't mean the movie type violence, but the real world stuff.

I worked as a bartender and bouncer in my 20's, and have had to break up plenty of fights and neutralize plenty of drunks. It's possible to defend someone w/o necessarily hurting the attacker, unless the attacker just has his heart set on having his a** kicked.

Really, though, I practice deescalation and neutralizing when it comes to violence. If you harm the attacker needlessly, you're no better, IMO.
