What to do in an "economic Armageddon"?
Warren Buffet called it an "economic Pearl Harbor". But what if it is worse than that? What if our government comes back again and again and again to ask for more money? What if the cost of saving our economic system is truly $60 trillion dollars?

Do we have any choice except to keep paying out the nose? As our lives and futures deteriorate right before our eyes? What can we do?

I would propose that we organize ourselves into community groups. Call them "communes" if you want. Call them whatever you like. The idea is to survive.

Start your own community bank. Use it only for your group. It will be self-sufficient from interest only. Use the money for the common good.

In the worst case scenario, there will be few jobs in what is now known as the private sector. It may be necessary to start co-ops to help with the farming and food needs. Your group will be the example for others to follow.

But could it really happen here? Nothing is impossible.

If the "government" insisted that the people pay off $60 trillion in debt, the people would have no choice but to declare bankruptcy as a group. All debts would be hereby forgiven. The most important task is to take care of yourself, your family, and your friends.

If this time were to come, it would be wise to remember to hang together. Otherwise, we shall all hang separately, as Ben Franklin once warned the early revolutionaries. Just put this thought in the back of you mind and keep it safely under lock and key unless and until it is ever needed...

1. They will simply create $60T to pay it off.
You and I will then pay for it via the ultimate tax...hyperinflation.

8. I buy mine from a farmer. $3 per.
Organic farming isn't expensive; shipping it is. Just about everything "unnatural" in processed food is there to make it last longer so that it's cheaper to ship.

2. I've already started one
We're several homeowners with big backyards. The growing potential is enormous in such a situation.
I'd suggest picking up rural land to raise livestock would also be advisable.

3. At a certain point, impoverished people lead revolutions against governments that left them in ruin.
Even the American people have a limit, and that limit is extremely high, but the limit does exist. There may yet be another American Revolution in the future or even the dissolution of the US akin to the break-up of the USSR.

7. The idea is to survive.
And as one poet said, "Love is the only engine of survival". Absolutely. Its also worthwhile to remember is that money is an attempt to quantify love, products and services being expressions thereof. Even if the quantification goes away the heart remains.

"The apples turn to brown and black, The tyrant's face is red. "
