Warner vs Gilmore in Virginia.
Most polls have something in the magnitude of a (can you believe this?) 30 point lead for former Governor Mark Warner.
Rumors abound that the seat holder, current Senator John Warner, will endorse Mark Warner. John Warner has already publicly declined to back Gilmore.
Warner has been endorsed by the .... wait for it ..... US Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police. Both of these groups almost always endorse Repubs. (

I think it is fair to say that this one is over. Warner will succeed Warner.
Now ...... let's consider the rest of this. Virginia has a Democratic Governor in Tim Kaine. Kaine succeeded Warner, meaning Virginia has now twice in a row gone Democratic statewide. They also threw out possible presidential super star George Macaca - for good reason, but still. Jim Webb now holds the seat. That's what matters.
Kaine and Obama are really good friends with a history together. Kaine is very popular in Virginia. Kaine has no duties this cycle except to campaign for Warner and Obama. And Obama's prospects in the state are looking better and better.
Then there's the fact that McLame has had to throw a lot of fresh reinforcements into the state. Why would he have to do that? Couldn't be because his internals show him getting his aged ass kicked from one end of the state to the other, could it? Nah. I'm sure this was always their plan, right? Riiiiiiiight.
So ..... let's put Warner in the *Win* column right now ...... and Obama into the *Damned Good Chance He'll Win* column.
