She is a pop singer who has become famous for her song "I kissed a girl" and "Ur So Gay".

The song itself has been described as an "emo-bashing anthem that's either horribly homophobic, a sly piece of social commentary or, possibly, both." The New Gay points out that her lead singles, "Ur So Gay" and "I Kissed a Girl", together equal "a classic example of the “Guys kissing is gross, girls kissing is hot' line of thought," and says, "it’s time to call bullshit on Katy Perry," and the, "tired gay stereotypes," she uses in the lyrics of "Ur So Gay". Slant Magazine describes her use of the term gay as "casually derogatory" while Glitterati Gossip describes its use as "schoolyard homophobia"

shes just a shitty singer, not a homophobe. Its impossible to say something like that in this culture and not come out branded a homophobe. I know Feist is friends with and once roomed with Peaches, and SHE is definitely NOT a homophobe, if you know peaches is you will understand.
