So I understand you are upset that we are importing oil when you have oil in your own state. I understand that opening up drilling in Alaska will mean lots of jobs for you. Boy, do I understand that. Jobs, at least the good-paying ones, have been hard to come by. I should know. I had to leave my home state of Ohio when the steel industry was gutted by imports from Japan and other cheap-labor countries. I had to leave my IT job when my line of work was outsourced to India. I used to be one of those east-coasters Sarah Palin mentioned last night, but I had to move all the way to California to find a good-paying job. So pardon me if I don't vote for the party who championed "globalization." Pardon me if I won't vote for the party who champions tax breaks for companies who "offshore." Pardon me if I don't give a rat's ass about your job in Alaska, because obviously, you haven't given a rat's ass about mine.

2. And never mentioned is that Palin taxing the oil companies in Alaska leads to higher

prices for the rest of us.

Another thing NEVER mentioned, that the oil goes on the global market to the highest bidder and not guaranteed to be kept here!!!

So Alaskans, while you've received your "profits", there will be senior citizens freezing to death this coming winter in the "lower 48".

4. and halleluja! Being a rather new Texan, I'd love to get an annual

kickback from the oil industry as the Alaskans do. But bigger than that, why aren't all citizens in the U.S. getting that $$$$ the Alaskans do? I don't understand how they worked that little arrangement. I didn't sleep much last night and I hope I'm not offending any Alaskan here at DU.
