McCainus made that statement several times. Can someone help break that down for me? Does this mean that he plans on launching surprise attacks on other nations?

4. In the debate, McCain was responding to Obama
Obama suggested that he would not rule out an attack on Pakistan if Pakistan was unwilling or unable to do something about the AQ/Taliban elements in it's western provinces. Obama did not suggest that he was going to attack Pakistan, but McCain tried to play it that way.

10. When you consider Republicans often state that the thought of Reagan as President. . .
is what inspired the Iranians to release the Embassy hostages, I would think they'd recognize the value of a "preemptive threat."

11. "I will follow Bin Laden to the gates of hell"
But not into Pakistan.. No one ever suggested attacking another country. If McCain gets this easily confused then he is senile. What was suggested was Al Qaeda which is not another country would be attacked if we had solid evidence on their where-abouts.

13. Sounds like he is trying to find fault with Obama's stated position on Pakistan & al Qaeda. Since he
cannot fault the logic of going after bin Laden where bin Laden actually is, he has to attack the way in which the information was delivered. Then I guess he could say "it was always my plan to attack al qaeda in Pakistan" if he ever got into power and had to take action.
