"Palin begins three-day cramming course for crucial TV showdown" - Ready on day one??
Sarah Palin was set to enter the confines of John McCain's ranch in Arizona yesterday for three days of intensive preparations ahead of her showdown against Joe Biden in this week's vice-presidential television debate. Thursday night's match in St Louis, Missouri, will bring McCain's running mate her moment of greatest national exposure since the virtual unknown joined the Republican ticket for the White House.

Goodness, if something would happen to a President McCain, would Ms. Palin have to go cramming for three days before being ready to step in?

1. It was reported that today....
...the "Hooked on Phonics" truck backed up into McCain's Arizona driveway and made a huge delivery.

Apparently, they're starting from square one with Palin.

2. Excuse me, *BEGINS* three-day cramming course?
I would have thought they would have started the Clockwork Orange treatment the second she finished the Couric interview.

4. Any college student will tell you that doesn't work
All it does is end up making you irritable in addition to poorly prepared. I mean, if she's going to be preparing for every possible question that could be posed on the domestic and international situation, then she's going to be spread so thin that whatever knowledge she gains will be minimal. If she were studying for a test on one topic, this might help. Trying to assimilate knowledge of the entire global system in three days... somehow I doubt that will work.

7. And when she does she'll probably be wired on Mountain Dew and No-Doz
if the past is any guide. Well, I've never known anybody to use No-Doz in personal experience, though I did see it for sale in some convenience stores near campus. On the other hand, I've never seen a complete ignoramus who I know personally try to beat Joe Biden in a debate, so my experience there is limited.

8. Remember what happened to SpongeBob...
...when he tried this?

SpongeBob tried to learn how to be a fancy waiter, so he attempted to "clear his mind" of everything
except "fine dining and breathing" while reading "How to become a fancy waiter in 20 minutes."

It worked...for a while. He was a great waiter, until someone asked him his name. Then, SpongeBob
had a meltdown.

That's exactly how it will go with Palin. You can't cram talking points into someone, and expect that
to work in a debate. She may be able to memorize some basic facts, but she lacks context for all
of it. She has absolutely no idea what she is talking about. She has no meaning attached to any of the
talking points she spews.

I can't wait to see this. If it's anything like what happened to Spongebob, people will be talking
about this for decades...
