Is this another setup?
Bush announces emergency
Bush proposes plan
Democrats modify bush's plan
Vote fails
Stock market crashes

Blame dems for not going along with original plan and causing the stock market to crash and every other financial calamity that comes from here on in

I can hear it now... "if the dems would have just gone along with Bush's original plan, we would be working out of this trouble instead of going deeper into it." yada yada.

2. The setup would have been the Dems passing it without Repubs
The GOP wanted to be able to tell their base the Democrats are trying to socialize corporate America.

3. Right, that's what people have been saying for the last few days, however, if it doesn't pass
they can then blame the dems for it not passing.

4. Yes, and Pelosi fell for it hook, line and sinker.
This economic collapse wasn't going to be stopped by any of this shit.

This was just a little political interlude brought to you by Rove.

It's time for Nancy to resign.

5. Can't blame Dems when it's Bush's Repub buddies who voted against it
I just hope Dems don't cave now on all the other Repub demands such as suspending cap gains taxes for 2 years, etc.

9. that wouldn't stop them
they could just say that they voted against it because of the bad changes that the dems put it in.

6. And who is going to spin that
Rethugs who didn't want Bush or Cheney at McPOW's convention?

Rethugs who are running as reps of the Gop rather than Republicans because they don't want to be associated with Bush.

I dare them.

8. it's happening right now
"As soon as the bailout proposal failed in the House, Republican lawmakers began blaming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for its defeat. In a press conference, the GOP leadership faulted Pelosi for giving a “partisan” speech prior to the vote"

7. My prophesy came true in less than two hours.
