21. It should not pass
They are trying to scare and confuse us. Michael Moore says it better than I ever could.
Don't be fooled. This is 911, financial style.

There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

9. I think this is good news for Americans.
If congress believes a bailout is in order, they need to go back to the drawing board and craft something that the American people find palatable.

10. And Rethugs look like heroes to the voters who were against the bill.
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 12:53 PM by dixiegrrrrl
Damn...I see it now.
They do not need the bailout money, they can get the money lots of other ways.
But they came across, this whole time, talking like progressives, talking like Dems used to, and there will be a whole bunch of folks who buy that at the polls.
They can now point to how they defended "the voters" against the big government giveaway.

edited for spelling.
sparks flying from the keyboard.

13. Apparently the Europeans are nationalizing their financial institutions that
are in trouble. It's being said on Thom Hartmann this morning. It seems like a better way to do it. He's having Dr. Ravi Batra, the economist on his show the last hour coming up. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say.

17. Not only that, but the woman behind the podium said it passed after voice vote,
then the recorded vote shows it didn't.

very odd, but I thought the 'yeas' sounded more numerous than the 'nays', even though they sounded a little louder. so I'd probably have called it the same way had I been in her position.

I'm not certain this is a decision to cheer or to be sad over. it is what it is. we'll find out in the future how it all shakes out, who was most prescient for the good of all.

Anyone got a list of the Reps voting record?
