"Fool me once, Shame on You. Fool me twice, Shame on Me."

"Fool me Three times . . . ."???

What IS the word for people who are fooled three times? Since the Resident can't even get this phrase right, maybe it's time we should re-invent it?

Seriously, has anyone heard a compelling, "help the middle class" reason that wasn't either a complete lie or came with consequences attached to vote FOR John McCain? FROM ANYONE?

Or with Republicans, is it really all about why people shouldn't vote for Barack Obama?

Here's a challenge: Ask a Republican one . . . ONE reason to vote FOR John McCain without mentioning Obama's or Clinton's names. See how many are successful (success meaning "an honest-to-goodness answer that can be rendered incorrect with facts").

It's also absolutely astonishing that anyone is undecided at this point.

I mean, what's there to decide? You either vote to surgically repair the country over a long period of time (as in get our purpose and leadership back, get our economy back on track, start bringing our troops home, etc) and for the second term, rehabilitate it . . . or strap it on the gurney and lethally inject it. WHAT'S TO DECIDE?

2. I always believe in sowing seeds of doubt in the opposition. Yes, ask them why
anyone should vote for McSame. And don't be afraid to show your distaste for the man. At the very least, maybe they'll be disgusted enough to decide they're just too busy to bother on election day.

5. This stems from me schooling my "undecided" neighbor last night.

Not the single issue Catholic voter next door, but the one three houses down I've known for years. He kept asking me things like "why is Obama the "Messiah?" and "You just buy into the 'Kool-Aid' without looking?" and "I don't really know anything about Obama".

UNbelievable. Here's someone who voted against Bewsh twice and is now "undecided"? :wtf:

Here's the thing, people. If you're "undecided" at this point after eight years of Bewsh; all his bullshit and scandal and war and middle/working/poor class destruction and soon to be nine straight months of job losses, then you're either a closet racist, an uncloseted dumbass or just completely not paying attention.

If you're a McCain/Palin voter at this point, well then you just need a Buford T Justice dead-kick in the ass.

With neo-con candidates, past performance is usually a guarantee of future results. BANK on it.

I'm thinking he's not undecided, but just trying to find every excuse on the planet to avoid saying "I won't vote for him because he's black". And if that's the case, and I will get it out of him . . . . then I think it's time to re-evaluate.

I do think there are many closet racists who just can't bring themselves to vote for a black man no matter what. When no other explanation exists or if they just can't say why they won't vote for Obama, then that's probably it. I would have no problem asking someone like that, "It's not because he's black, is it? Because I would hope this country is beyond that in the 21st century." Hell, it's the elephant in the living room! Why pussyfoot around it? Make them deny it, if they can.

Now, I tend to be heavy handed because I am really scared for my country, and I am something of a fighter for the things I believe in. I don't mind ruffling feathers. So I don't want anybody I talk to who plans to vote for any Republican to walk away feeling good about it. I may be the only person they ever speak to who tells them that's the worst thing they could do for the future of this nation. See, I WANT them to be uncomfortable and defensive and, hopefully, unsure of their choice. Maybe, just maybe, on election day, they'll decide it's just not worth the effort to go out of their way and vote for someone like McCain.

Here's something I said yesterday to a neutral voter who likes Obama but thought McCain did well in the debate, and who thinks, believe it or not, that Palin is 'bright:' 'If you're not terrified (of McCain/Palin), you're uninformed.' I don't mince words. And I don't suffer fools gladly.

3. No Kidding, I Just Saw A House In Our Neighborhood With 3
McCain signs up and it took every ounce of restraint that I had not to march up there and ask them WTF their problem was and why did they hate America.

On the plus side, although our town is basically progressive we had one entire street the last Presidential election that we dubbed 'Republican Row' for the prevalence of * yard signs. This year only 2 of them have McCain signs up and 1 actually has an Obama sign up.

4. I participated in campaign vandalism yesterday, too!
House with Mccain sign,
I drove up to their mailbox and put a BIG OBAMA 08 sticker right on the side! I wanted to get out and put another sticker on the sign, but my kids were with me and I was also thinking they would run out and get my Lic plate #!!!
(yep, I AM setting an example....when your livelihood is on the line, a little civil disobediance goes a LONG WAY!!!!)

I also thought about going up & down the street at night and stickering people's cars!

damn, it's like being young again! lol

6. In the words of John Dean,
the people who are supporting McPOW and that idiot woman are "immunized from reality."

There's no getting through to them. Not ever. They're locked up tighter than Pickles's ass.
