What prevents them from taking the $$, selling off the business and being gone 5 years later
when the bill finally comes due?

If I can figure this out, a lowly teacher, doncha think these CEO's will?

"You can't take the $$, sell off the businesses, and be gone 5 years later." ?

3. The buyer of the business has to pay the bill
Stockholders are the ones who own the companies, not the CEOs.

5. It's already in law
The corporation is responsible for the liabilities to the government. It doesn't matter who owns it at the time.

There is no way to get out of this unless the company goes bankrupt, which means the owners will lose everything anyways. There is no way to game it so you can get ahead unless you get the government to do a special favor for you.
