going in/out of door in Alaska? Kind of inconvenient, me thinks. Don't they have contacts or lasik up there?

Just wondering.

(Mods, I'm sure you'll move this - and please do - if I've put it in the wrong place)

Thanks for all you do at DU, btw! :-)

2. You don't wear glasses do you?
Glasses don't fog over if there is enough air circulating.

Unless you have goggles with no vents or you are sweating like a pig (with lipstick), your glasses won't fog over.

10. I DO wear glasses (and contacts too - though not together ;-) )
Glasses are a real pain in the rear in winter. They do fog up going in/out of doors and it's a real pain.

I'm guessing you don't wear glasses regularly or you don't live in an area with sub-freezing temperatures in winter.....but, whatever

13. Well I do, but I'm farsighted...
I don't wear them all the time out doors, no, but I do wear goggles when I ride my bike and they fog over unless I'm moving.

I agree that those glasses are for show, there are plenty of pre-campaign photos of her without them.

I think it is to look more intelligent, but also look more attractive. Somehow women with glasses make some men tick (not me, I like boobs, but hey to each is own).

17. I wear glasses and contacts at the same time
I hate having to have glasses at all. I live in Florida, and they fog up every time I go in and out of air conditioned buildings. Plus, there's plain old vanity. I take them off whenever I can because most of us look better when we're not wearing them.

look more intelligent.

I see them laying in the sun pretending to get a tan but they need to warm their blood and digest the baby brains they just ate.

I think so.

19. I lived in Minnesota for 40 years, and I wore glasses the whole time
They only fog up coming indoors, but there are things you can treat your lenses with that ameliorate that effect.

I can only speak for myself, I found contact lenses to be utterly uncomfortable, I tried both hard and soft lenses. And because I have a slight astigmatism, the regular lenses really did not correct my vision properly.

As for Lasik, nobody, no how, is coming anywhere NEAR my eyes with either a scalpel or a laser. It is NOT GONNA HAPPEN. I know someone who had Lasik when it first came out, and the doctor fucked up his vision, he had to have it a second and third time. After that, he gave up and wears glasses. He has very little vision in one of his eyes as a result of the fuckups.

And I agree with you about the lasik surgery. I'm glad so many people are enjoying it's benefits, but it's not for me either - couldn't/ wouldn't want to do it.
