3. PSA
Do NOT initiate a drinking game based on a Magoo phrase like "My friends." Alcohol poisoning is not fun and you will not enjoy dialysis if they find you in time.

A little premedication among those of you who are able to drink is not a bad idea.

However, the hilarity should be sufficient tonight that chemical assistance is not an absolute necessity.

12. Too early here
It's almost 2:30. I don't leave work until 5:00. By the time the debate starts, I'll be in front of the TV with a drink in my hand and my pet snake on my shoulders.

17. Corn snake
He's a small constrictor native to the SE USA. Only about 4.5 feet long and about 2.5 lbs. He's quite tame and lets me handle him.

I've told him not to strike at Repugnicans. No use letting them poison a sweet creature like a snake.

21. When I thought the debate would not happen, my first thought was
There goes Friday night's drinking game!"

Once we knew it was back on, my husband and I started emailing back and forth wile at work, and he came up with these "terms" for tonight's game. (My version was much milder, since I am a lightweight!)

1 sip for a lie
2 sips when he says “change”
1 shot for POW mention
1 sip for mention of the surge
5 shots if he keels over on the stage
3 sips for mention of drilling (3 shots if he actually says “drill baby, drill”)
Every time he refers to his running mate, by name or not, stand up, face Russia and finish whatever bottle is in front of you

Now that is a game that will get you through a presidential debate.

22. Down one every time McCain...

...displays a nervous tick
...contradicts what he said in the previous 5 minutes
...tells a bland face lie
...doesn't answer the question
...doesn't remember the question
...says, "President Palin"
...forgets where he his and wanders offstage looking for his puppy

and for those who simply must binge drink...
...says the word '_________' (choose your word from the following: 'strong', 'change', 'new', 'Senator Obama')

29. Ice-cold J. Lohr chardonnay
A bar-tender in a Hyatt at LAX turned me on to that the night of the final MASH episode in the early 1980s. That's what I have for the debate.

30. A lovely Prosecco, please! It is my signature in the Lounge, you know.
Perhaps a Bellini, made with pomegranate juice, just to be seasonal. My favorite mixed drink (if you could call it that since it doesn't contain any hard liquor).

Two glasses during the debate will be sufficient, thank you.

and the Canadian Mist is going down mighty smooth. I intend to be a little snookered by the time the debate starts. McSame should be pretty funny, LOL!

34. Had to put a halt to it. The boys were proposing a shot everytime
McCain said either "My Friends" or "POW." I figured that they'd be passed out after the first five minutes of the debate.
