The insanity thread: A DU collaborative investigation
There's a real upsurge in discussion of how crazy everything is, so let this be a dumping ground for crazy talk in the context of a DU member investigation.

I'll link to a few crazy articles. The first one is to an article written by Jeanne Lenzer that was published by the British Medical Journal/BMJ June 19, 2004-in it I learned about the Texas Medication Algorithm Project/TMAP which was sponsored by then Texas Governor George Walker Bush in 1995, and learned many other crazy things.

Btw, the current Executive Director of the Texas branch of the American Psychiatric Association/APA is John Bush. The BMJ article is below.

"Bush plans to screen whole US population for mental illness" (Jeanne Lenzer BMJ 6-19-2004)
http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/328/7454/1458

Psychiatrists are employed in many unethical/criminal black budget funded operations including torture, non consensual human experimentation, psychological operations and God knows what else.

The profession has come under fire through litigation and the American Psychiatric Association has a liability insurance program for its members called The Psychiatrists Program. Here's what seems crazy to me, the two insurers for liability (National Union Fire Insurance & Lexington Insurance Co) are both AIG subsidiaries.

The Psychiatrists Program page from APA
http://www.psychprogram.com/

AIG is part of the black budget network and was founded by intelligence agency connected people as throughly documented by investigative journalist Lucy Komisar in an article about AIG published by Corp Watch.org November 17, 2004- that article is linked below.

"Cooking the Insurance Books" by Lucy Komisar
http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=11657aig

Psychiatrists like Louis Jolyon West, Sidney Gottlieb and many others were assets of the US intelligence community as well as the many professional organizations and institutions that accepted "research projects" for a lot of crazy stuff from the black budget network. The profession and neurosciences are a huge part of George Walker Bush's Global War On Terror.

That's enough craziness for this OP, I'm looking forward to your contributions to this insanity thread.

4. Two things/comments
1) "Bush plans to screen whole US population for mental illness" The shrub should begin with himself, to set an 'example' - remember, checking for mental illness should begin at home, shrubby - AND the shrub would be a 'target rich' environment of mental illness, proving the initiative a huge success!

2) I USED to know a psychologist who was working on the CAPPS II project. He always smiled like a "Cheshire Cat" when he talked about what a 'great' job that was for him - (i.e., he was racking in the dough for what he probably knew, but didn't care as long as he was racking in the dough, was a stupid project.)

7. Psychologists also have a professional organization the American Psychological Association/APA
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 10:42 PM by bobthedrummer
American Psychological Association/APA.
http://www.apa.org/

Some of these professionals are really crazy, some of them are criminals-just like in every profession there can be found renegades--but it's hard to find a profession with such influential rebels like Timothy Leary, John Mack, John Gittinger, Ernst Rudin, Jose DelGado, Sid Gottlieb, Louis "Jolly" West, Michael Aquino, Ewen Cameron and many others.

It's crazy to neglect US military and their families that need help as a result of their service-it's a crime to experiment on them, or any other American citizen, without informed consent--yet some psychiatrists and psychologists make a career of it along with pharmaceutical companies.

It's nuts.

http://www.democracynow.org/2007/2/22/walter_reed_ex_patient_wife_speak

Then there are psychological operations (PSYOPS), which are still illegal in the US, but, as former SecDef Rumsfeld admitted without explanation in February 2004 somehow PSYOPS that had targeted foreign populations had migrated to the US.

PSYOPS have always been a strategic part of war-President Truman authorized a Psychological Strategy Board in 1951 as part of the Cold War.

These hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and fascism along with everything else can try our minds.

I know you're a brother musician so you've seen some insanity (as we all have)-but imagine stuff like psychic spies (at taxpayer expense for at least 20 years) or programming people to do things like assassination (at taxpayer expense).

I took a lot of psychology courses in college and some of the professors talked openly about these professional "aberrations".

Actually some useful things came out of the fringes-like John Gittinger's Personality Assessment System/PAS. John Marks wrote about this in Chapter 10 of "The Search for the Manchurian Candidate"

"The Gittinger Assessment System" (Drug Library.org)

Edited on Sat Sep-27-08 12:24 PM by bobthedrummer
chilling testimony about the HUMAN EXPERIMENTATION ACTIVITIES of the Central Intelligence Agency. The Deputy Director of the CIA revealed that over 30 universities and institutions were involved in an EXTENSIVE TESTING AND EXPERIMENTATION PROGRAM which included covert tests on unwitting citizens at all social levels (high and low) native Americans and foreign.

Several of these (tests involved) the administration of LSD to unwitting subjects in (social) situations...The Central Intelligence Agency drugged American citizens without their knowledge or consent. It used university facilities and personnel without their knowledge."

It's just plain loco to deny reality while hiding crimes behind the national security shield (which is a crime in itself).

Ted Kennedy was speaking about some of these crimes based upon findings of post-Watergate congressional investigations (Church/Pike etc).

Directed energy weapons and systems, non-lethal weapons, exotic weapons all these things are real-and the "research and development" history is totally off the wall and criminally insane.

Sonoma State University/Project Censored/Media Freedom Foundation published a report about some of these directed energy weapons in December 2006. It's madness to ignore these reports today.

"Some of this deadly corruption that is killing so many Americans is not as well known about. Some of the most dangerous drugs are manufactured by companies owned by the high-powered Carlyle Group investment consortium, which is also the owner of some of the biggest military contractors, and whose board is completely stacked with infamous Republican ueber-politicos the likes of James Baker, Frank Carlucci, and none other than George Bush Sr. himself. Some of these drugs are forcefed to perfectly healthy enlisted men and women in the military in the guise of "prophylactic medication" to protect them against the microbial perils lurking in the hinterlands of America's far-flung and growing global military empire."

This important step allows us to move forward in finalizing and implementing our strategic initiatives and shows the Federal governments recognition of AIGs important role in the global financial markets. but looks like Arkansas students found the door!
Lucy Komisar is an investigative journalist who is writing a book about offshore bank and corporate secrecy. She received research assistance on this report from the Arkansas Committee. The committee was started in 1990 by University of Arkansas students, who, suspicious that Arkansas Development Finance Authority was selling more bonds than it could use to finance state projects, demanded the agency's documents under the Freedom of Information Act. It fought the case to the Arkansas Supreme Court before it got the papers describing the AFDA deal to buy shares of Coral Re.

Here's my 2 cents:

1) Army Reserve teams with D.C. Police to boost employment

The Army Reserve recruited the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department in its new initiative to partner with public and private sector employers to jointly recruit, train and employ individuals.

Either side can recruit an individual for the program, to let employees get Army training and enhance Army operations.

"If you look at the makeup of the Army Reserve, there's 11,000 military police and correction specialists," said Russell Rice, chief warrant officer of the Army Reserve. "For our employment outreach, we thought we should concentrate on law enforcement because of the number of soldiers we have in this field."

There are slightly more than a million available soldiers the Army could place or find employment for, he said. They are presently working with 50 nationwide and regional companies to do just that.

-snip-

By this fall, they hope to have 400 to 500 companies signed up. They are zeroing in on companies in the engineering/construction, personnel administration, information technology, mechanic, supply, chemical, civil affairs fields, medicine, transportation, law and enforcement/corrections fields.

2. Halliburton Subsidiary Gets Contract to Add Temporary Immigration Detention Centers

The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth up to $385 million for building temporary immigration detention centers to Kellogg Brown & Root, the Halliburton subsidiary that has been criticized for overcharging the Pentagon for its work in Iraq.

KBR would build the centers for the Homeland Security Department for an unexpected influx of immigrants, to house people in the event of a natural disaster or for new programs that require additional detention space, company executives said. KBR, which announced the contract last month, had a similar contract with immigration agencies from 2000 to last year.

-snip-

Advocates for immigrants said they feared that the new contract was another indication that the government planned to expand the detention of illegal immigrants, including those seeking asylum.

Its pretty obvious that the intent of the government is to detain more and more people and to expedite their removal, said Cheryl Little, executive director of the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center in Miami.

Ms. Zuieback said the KBR contract was not intended for that.

Its not part of any day-to-day enforcement, she said.

She added that she could not provide additional information about the companys statement that the contract was also meant to support the rapid development of new programs.

Halliburton executives, who announced the contract last week, said they were pleased.

You'd have to be MAD to believe this report today, considering the FACT that RUMSFELD'S DoD "lost" a TRILLION DOLLARS-and the DoD's Inspector General's office couldn't find it either...

36. $859 Billion is insanity!
No costs related to medical care to injured for life, no accounting on "lost" money, no accounting period and certainly no accountability. I'm afraid we are done.

37. I found a trio of links about the Texas Medication Algorithm Project/TMAP and its disastrous
outcomes. The originator, Dr. Stephen Shon, also came up with a Children's Medication Algorithm Project/CMAP.

Here's three articles about Dr. Shon's TMAP and CMAP.

The first article is from Bloomberg.com by Rob Waters and was posted December 28, 2006.
Below is the first paragraph from Mr. Waters Bloomberg.com article:
"A Johnson & Johnson unit mislead Texas health officials about the risks of an antipsychotic drug to increase prescriptions, according to a whistleblower lawsuit joined by the state attorney general."

Here's the entire article-it's loony tunes
"J&J Sued by Texas in Whistleblower Case on Marketing (Update 1)" (Rob Waters 12-28-2006 Bloomberg.com)
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a2mpCNBojB2I#

I don't know anything about the website of the next article, Natural News.com, but there was a posting on February 26, 2006 by user name Dani Veracity that is factual and sobering-the subject line speaks volumes

"TMAP, medication algorithm horrors, and the drugging of our children"
http://www.naturalnews.com/018715.html

Rob Waters also authored a Mother Jones article that was posted on its May/June 2005 website, it is linked below.

"Medicating Aliah" by Rob Waters (May/June 2005 Mother Jones)
http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2005/05/medicating_aliah.html

Dr. Stephen Shon and his TMAP/CMAP-maybe some other members know a bit of crazy stuff about him and his discredited "projects"-he made a lot of $$ as a Eli Lilly Board member though.

Fair use cited on all links.
