"Add North Carolina's Dole to List of Vulnerable Incumbents"
I'm not generally a big fan of Rasmussen's polling, but here's a headline I had to cheer:

"Add North Carolina's Dole to List of Vulnerable Incumbents"

Hagan - 51%; Dole - 45% (link - http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_senate_elections/north_carolina/election_2008_north_carolina_senate)

Rasmussen isn't the only one picking up Dole's weakness; here's PPP's recent numbers: Hagan - 46%; Dole - 41% (link - http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_NC_92168.pdf)

4. Get involved with Kay Hagan's campaign here
http://www.kayhagan.com/home

Liddy Dole may look down, but she is by no means out. Dole is a scrapper and a tough campaigner, and this incumbent won't be easily beaten. Hagan will need all the help she can get to defeat her, financial or otherwise.

If you live in NC, please volunteer for her campaign. If not, please at least donate.

Think how sweet it will be to turn Jesse Helms' former seat blue. :)

9. I live in NC and I can tell you a couple things about this race...
The top Democrats who could have challenged Dole all considered it and dropped out. Hagan is just an excellent candidate, but most in NC really knew little about her even those she served in the Legislature for years.

Hagan started out with little financial support and behind in initial polls about 40 points.

That Hagan has made up that ground and now leading in the polls tells you how far she has come in gaining support to turn out Dole.

Dole tried to ignore Hagan, and then tried to belittle her experience(in much the same way McCain tried to do against Obama). Hagan began to catch fire, attracted the support of very smart political strategists who crafted a campaign that hit Dole on her strength --40 years in Congress. Hagan pointed out Dole's effectiveness rating of 93rd out of 100 in the Senate, how she sold NC out to the oil business and corporate cronies.

Dole began to lose her lead in a short period of time and immediately initiated one of the dirtiest negative tv ad campaigns run in years in NC. What Dole did not realize was Hagan was more than willing to slug it out and kept up her attacks on Dole with ads which really hit Dole's relationship to Bush, voting with Bush, her $2.5 billion in tax breaks for big oil, her receiving $277,000 in campaign contributions from big oil, and how she was lying in her ads about Hagan.

WE are now seeing dozens of ads a day from both sides, and the Hagan polls just keep going up.

Dole is really in trouble here, and has called on the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee to run ads for her here in NC.

I would not underestimate Dole's chances, but Hagan has an excellent chance of winning if she attracts enough $$ and enough feet on the ground to GOTV.

Bev Perdue is the Dem Lt Gov running for Governor this time. Having a woman in the Governor's Mansion and a woman as our Senator is a very attractive possibility for GOTV campaign in NC.

IF you can afford to send Hagan a couple of bucks, it could make all the difference in securing a 60 plus majority in the Senate after this election.

10. Don't see too many Dole yard signs here in Asheville
I can't forget Dole's fawning glances at Bush during the SOTU speeches---it was utterly disgusting!

11. In the last 2 weeks Dole is spending some big money ....
There have been a number of Dole signs popping up where there were none just a couple of weeks ago. She is running lots of negative tv ads which are being 'tinkered with' to try and find the right message that will energize the Repub voters and reach the independents/unaffiliated voters.

Dole knows she is in a fight.

I just hope that people realize Hagan can and will win if she gets a reasonable amount of $$ to finish out this campaign.
