5. Drove five people 7 hours round-trip to Michigan to canvas this weekend

From my perspective, walking the streets in economically depressed Jackson, MI--there are some hard up people there willing to vote for Obama. But I don't know if we can count on them to actually get themselves to the polls. We need tons of follow up to all the canvassing in the few days prior to, and especially the day of, the elections. These folk (women mostly) were herding the neighborhood kids while working night shifts (if they were lucky), and although their intentions are good, I know we are going to have to lean on them to find the way and the time to actually vote. We're talking people who seemed like they might not vote a lot. They want the change, they just may need some nudging to help us get it.
