Free Cindy McCain

The idea for this website came to us on that fateful day in August when we watched in horror as John McCain jokingly offered his wife to participate in the Miss Buffalo Chip contest at the Sturgis bike rally. It is bad enough he was at the rally in the first place. Some venues are unbefitting of a serious Presidential candidate and certainly one that is known for incidents of domestic violence would be in that category. But Senator McCain wasn’t content to leave it at that level of impropriety. He felt it necessary to humiliate his wife on stage before thousands of hooting and leering men, as he suggested she enter a competition that is known for women going topless, and often bottomless, while performing simulated sex acts.
Lovely. **WARNING: Some images in this video may not be safe for work! It gets even better when you realize that the McCains' daughter, Meghan, is standing on the stage next to them!! This makes us feel profoundly sympathetic to, and frankly worried about, Cindy McCain. She has been married for over 20 years to a man who has little regard for her feelings or dignity, as allegations in The Real McCain would seem to indicate.

P. 49-50 of The Real McCain: Why Conservatives Don’t Trust Him And Why Independents Shouldn’t, by Cliff Schecter

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain’s intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “you’re getting a little bit thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “at least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt.” McCain’s excuse was that it has been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

Many long days, indeed. (shudder) Note that no one who was identified as being present has explicitly denied the story, including the McCains. It is an allegation but we leave you to draw your own conclusions as to its veracity.

(Hint: we believe it happened)

The obvious question is why Cindy McCain stays with a man who verbally abuses and publicly humiliates her. She certainly has the resources to get away from him. Our theory: Stockholm syndrome. Several years of marriage to a bully with a hair-trigger temper have caused poor Cindy to mistake her captor’s occasional kindness for love.

Watch the Sturgis video and ask yourself if that woman looks happy to you. We think not.

1. She's got the money, and power, to leave him if she wanted to...
She's not like other women who are victims of abusers who stay because they have no money, no job, no skills and nowhere else to go... she's there by choice. Period.

Like the Eagles sang:

"often times it seems
like we live our lives in chains,
and we never even know we have the keys"....

3. Must be the weight of all those millions that make her feel trapped, huh?
:sarcasm:
